49% of iPhone Users Own Connected Health Products
A new Parks Associates study finds 49% of iPhone-owning heads of U.S. broadband households also own at least one connected health product, compared to 34% of owners of Android smartphones. The Connected Health, Wearables, and Fitness report reveals that the most commonly adopted connected health product types are wearables such as smart watches, fitness trackers, or GPS sports watches.
65% Have Only Moderate 5G Awareness
65% of respondents to Assurant’s Connected Decade study said they have only a moderate awareness of 5G, with millennials having the highest level of awareness (over 40% saying they’re very aware).
Online Shopping Growth Doubles
As the pandemic began rippling across the U.S. near the end of Q1, consumers clearly shifted their purchases online. Ecommerce sales accelerated from +13% growth in Q1 to +26% growth in Q2, according to a recent IBM U.S. Retail Index Study. newsroom.ibm.com/covid-19

According to the Home Automation Ownership & Usage Report from NPD’s Connected Intelligence, smart home device penetration has surpassed one out of every three U.S. consumers, with 35% of consumers stating they own at least one type of smart device.
Retail Sales Growth Seen Heading Into Q4
The U.S. Census Bureau recently reported that overall retail sales in September were up 1.9 percent seasonally adjusted from August, and up 5.4 percent year over year. That was more than triple the 0.6 percent month-over-month increase and almost double the 2.8 percent year-over-year increase in August.
